Who is an Urban Yogee?
Are you one?

An Urban Yogee lives in an Urban city environment, but has the lifestyle of a Yogee....

...just like the lotus which is rooted in the mud and water of the pond, yet rises above and remains untouched by both - is water proof and mud resistant, even as it is immersed in both water and mud. Similarly, Urban Yogees retain their own unique identity amidst the pulls and pressures of modern city life.

So what exactly makes one and Urban Yogee? What qualities characterise an Urban Yogee?

follow a yogic path

Accepting
of differences

Respectful

in words and deeds

in spirit and intention

who decide for themselves

Always evaluating and deciding for themselves, they do not follow the herd or simply accept stock anwers, but analyse available facts and information, seek out alternate viewpoints and synthesise their own answers. They are not afraid to hold and express unpopular opinions.

Seekers
of many things

They look for a balance between the fast paced, materialistic living typical of city life and a more relaxed, aligned with naturally rhythmic, deeper and meaningful existence. They look for answers to basic existential questions. They seek a Unified Theory of Everything, not just physics!!


What they do

Adopting an Urban Yogee lifestyle necessitates learning more about yoga and adapting it to living in an urban setup. Urban Yogees do that by doing the following:
