Healing
Like an Urban Yogee
Wellness - maintaining optimal health and a fully functional body, mind and spirit is the obvious ideal. But even when we live in wellness, an occasional bout of illness and disease can be expected.
While we do have a wide range of medicines for most such conditions, we could also choose to heal from routine unwellness using alternative therapies. Naturally allowing your body to heal itself, while supporting it fully, is the foundation of most alternate treatments. This support begins with your kitchen and your daily habits and diet. Your choice of lifestyle is your primary health and wellness system.
Healing Therapies
To heal, we have to first understand what makes us sick.
The root cause of all illness is three, and only three - germs, toxins or deficiencies. Thats it. Any and all pathology will fall in one of these three categories.
Healing is usually a matter of staying alive long enough to correct the root cause of the condition, while providing our bodies with the support and sustenanace they need to survive the onslaught and heal themselves.
Since the 20th century, healing in urban areas has come to mean modern medicine - pharmaceuticals and hospitals, with doctors in white coats. But Urban Yogees can carry many more arrows in their quivers of healing.
No one system of healing is the best. Each one has its place, its own strengths and limitations; the "right" one for you depends on a multitude of factors, including availability of reliable practitioners and trusted medicines.
While Urban Yogee promotes wellness and preventive care at all times, despite the best efforts one can fall sick; so build a sophisticated and varied toolbox to fix your health problems - and know how to pick the right tool for each kind of problem.
